NOTAM: If you have previously installed this DC-3 KBOS Scenery you need to simply replace the existing folder "DC-3 Airways KBOS" with the folder of the same name in the downloaded ZIP file. No need to activate if it has been previously activated in your Scenery Library.

DC-3 Airways KBOS Readme file.

A guide for the installation of the 'DC-3 Airways Hangar' in FS2002 and FS2004 (FS9).

If you are unfamiliar with the procedure required for installing 'Add-on Scenery' to your Flight Simulator please follow these simple instructions.

Before you commence any scenery additions you must first ensure that your Flight Simulator is not running.

The installation of the "DC-3 Airways Hangar" scenery will place a DC-3 Airways Hangar at Logan International airport, Boston (KBOS). Along with the DC-3 Airways Hangar you will install a Passenger Terminal, two outbuildings, two aircraft tractors, and a fuel tender.

You will find that this installation will also place a DC-3 Airways Hangar at approximately 60 other locations. A complete guide to where these are located is included with the download.

It has previously been mentioned that the entrance to the hangar was too narrow. This sometimes created problems with 'building crashes' when attempting to move the DC-3 into the hangar. The doors have now been substantially widened but care must still be taken when entering the hangar, especially if using 'external view', as the Flightsim sees your viewpoint as a solid object and will 'crash' if the viewpoint collides with any other object.

Installation.

The initial part of the installation applies to both FS2002 and FS2004.

 1. If you do not already have an area where you are storing new scenery files then it is suggested that you create a New Folder on your main drive, probably C, and call it, for instance, Simulator Scenery. (This folder name can be any name you choose and can be located anywhere on your hard drive). You only have to remember where it is. When installed, this folder will be common to both FS2000 and FS2004 and only needs to be installed once.

 2. Download the new scenery file to a Temporary folder of your choice. Since you are reading this you will already have done this.

 3. Unzip the downloaded Zip file, "dca_hangar.zip" into the same Temporary folder. A folder called DC-3 Airways KBOS will be created.

 4. Copy the complete "DC-3 Airways KBOS" folder and paste it into the Simulator Scenery Folder that you created on your C Drive, or to the location you have chosen.

For those of you who have a previous version of "DC-3 Airways KBOS" already installed and working, and only wish to update to the newer version, then simply remove the original "DC-3 Airways KBOS" Folder and replace it with the new "DC-3 Airways KBOS" folder. It isn't necessary to activate the scenery as the 'system' will not see a change. You do not need to go any further wih the installation.

You now have the scenery stored for use by either simulator. Since FS2002 and FS2004 operate slightly differently, the next installation instruction is also different for each Flight simulator. The individual Flight Simulators now need to know where to find the new scenery files.

Installation in FS2002.

 10. Now close down the simulator.

 11. When you next start FS2004 the DC-3 Airways hangar scenery will appear at all the listed locations.

Enjoy............

NOTAM: If you only wish to load specific locations, the rest may easily be removed. Assuming that your 'DC-3 Airways KBOS' Scenery is in the suggested location indicated above, then while in Windows Explore, navigate to C:\Simulator Scenery\DC-3 Airways KBOS\Scenery and remove the .bgl files of the locations you do not require. Each location is identified by the airport code.
